I just joined this community becase, out of bordeom, i did a search for Party City, my current employer. I saw this was a community in which I can complain about customers. How about employers as well?
Our complete manegerial staff quit recently. I can't say I blame them though. In January we recieved 2 new managers. One of them was one of the old managers step daughters and one of them was a man who comes up 4 days a week from Conneticut (spelling?). The woman is EXTREMELY nice and amiable. The man, Rob, however, is not.
We are in the process of changing our store around. The part timers, like myself, get called in just about every day if they aren't scheduled. I have not asked for a day off since August and I have been at the store almost every day since last May, including holidays and weekends. I asked for Sunday February 13th off to go see Bayside, my favorite band that hasn't broken up/died/still goes on tour/ect. I wear my bayside sweatshirt every day. I must have talked about this show for a month. Rob did not see fit to give me the day off. Everyone else in the store offered to take my hours becase they know how much I wanted it off. I am 16 years old and work 40 hours a week, sometimes more. I think that one day off is quite fair. I did not go to work and had a wonderful time at the concert.
Recently I got into another disagreement with Rob. This past week was February Vacation at my school. I let the staff know in August that I would be in France for the vacation. Rob scheduled me for the whole week. Not only that but he cut my hours down to 25 the week before. I come back in Sunday and I go in to pick up my check on monday, yesterday, and I see that I have only been paid for 4 hours. All of a sudden a $202.91 check is reduced to $25.38. Conviently, Rob has put the recent timecards in a different location and has called in sick for this week.

Boots and socks... and stupidity
I work for stompersboots (... not for much longer i hope)
Apparently australia has no socks. Or else why would they force me to package up one pair of socks and send them down under? My god- australia is known for its fine wool, cant they make a decent pair of socks? Maybe not, maybe i need to go to sock starved australia and cure them of the sock famine... Its about $11.00 in shipping to australia, and the socks are already $7.75... thats $18.75 for a pair of socks. Shit- i could eat a great meal for that kinda money.. or a fine bottle of wine- or... a hooker?
Moreso- I get calls from china wanting to buy some cheap boots and have us ship them over. Mind you shipping is $54 and more expencive than the $42 boot wich, by the way is MADE in china. Why dont they just drive down to the fucking factory? Current Mood: aggravated

I work at party city, and there is this one woman and her daughter that come in very frequently. The first time they came in, I thought the mother and daughter (who is about 3 or 4) had had some freaky friday sort of happening. The mother sounds like the 3 year old, and the daughter sounds like and adult. I was thinking that maybe the Mother was rejected as a voice over character for sesame street or something because she sounds like elmo walking through the store, and is usually well more excited about being there than the child is..
Isn't that just exciting...

"I'm a consumer whore!"
[Rejected is the best]
I posted once on "Customers Suck" and everyone kept bashing me, I still don't understand why... Anyway, maybe people here will be more understanding, perhaps? Either way, I don't have much stories to tell, but I work in retail and people are comsumer whores...
... Current Mood: confused

Hey Adam I decided to join your community. It seemed appropriate.
I hate customers! They are inconsiderate bums. And the best part is, I get to spend a good 7 hours with them today! Joy! ;-) Current Mood: blah
